Coast and BuildOps expand partnership to deliver real-time job-costing visibility for commercial contractors

Coast becomes the first corporate card platform to sync with BuildOps—helping contractors capture field spend instantly and protect margins

Coast, the financial platform purpose-built for companies operating vehicle fleets, today announced an expanded partnership with BuildOps, the operations platform built for commercial contractors. Coast and BuildOps have had an integration since August 2024 and is already being used by customers to streamline expense capture and improve job costing.

This expanded partnership deepens the integration to give commercial contractors a unified way to manage the full project lifecycle — from field spend and job costing to back-office reconciliation — without waiting for month-end accounting cycles.

Why it matters
Commercial contractors rely on precise job costing to estimate accurately, measure profitability, and invoice quickly. But when technicians use corporate cards in the field, finance teams often don’t see those expenses until days or weeks later — delaying invoices, reducing visibility, and putting margins at risk.

With the updated Coast + BuildOps integration, contractors can now:

  • Capture field expenses instantly by tagging each Coast transaction with the correct BuildOps job or project
  • Automatically sync enriched transactions into BuildOps with no manual entry
  • Gain real-time visibility into job-level spend, enabling faster billing and better margin protection

By unifying corporate cards and fuel cards into one platform, Coast helps contractors streamline purchasing, accelerate invoicing, and reduce administrative overhead.

“With Coast and BuildOps, our technicians and finance teams can tag expenses the moment they swipe and see them in BuildOps immediately,” said Eric Tucker, Director of Partnerships. “We reconcile faster, invoice sooner, and spend far less time chasing paperwork. It saves us countless hours every month.”
“Margins are under more pressure than ever, and contractors need real-time control over every project dollar,” said Phil Mirisola, Director of Partnerships at Coast. “By expanding our partnership with BuildOps, we’re giving contractors the automation and visibility they need to protect profitability.”
